Background
Amy’s interests have always been oriented towards the artistic, theological, and literary. During her undergraduate studies, Amy had the privilege of completing the Torrey Honors program, which offered a Great Books course of study within an Oxford-style method. Her love of reading continued to shape her educational journey and directed her to pursue literature as a concentration during her master’s program. J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Jane Austen are among her favorite authors. Amy has nearly two decades of educational experience in various settings for K-12th-grade students, including tutoring, homeschool classes, online classes, and coaching competitive speech and debate. Being a homeschooling mother and having been homeschooled herself, Amy has seen firsthand the benefits of a hybrid approach to home education. She is a native of Naples, Florida, where she currently lives with her husband, Stephen, their six children, and an assortment of animals. She loves reading and discussing books, floral arranging, historic dancing, as well as camping and going on walks with her family. She is a parishioner of St. Paul Orthodox Church in Naples and serves in the Orthodox for Life ministry. She is the co-founder of Holy Archangels Orthodox Academy and works closely with other instructors to align the curriculum with the mission and vision of the school.
